New beginnings... should be kicked off with a bang. And the night 'bang-ed', alright.
Was awesome fun, I reckon. Nothing out of the ordinary.. but it was the dressing up, the company and good fun that made it remarkable. And of course the after-party. There's always the after-party to end the night with a blast.
Why so solemn? Because we were terribly hungry.
... And maybe it's because Zee spotted his all-time nemesis Cheah Hui Ren (aka. birthday girl)
(everyone at the table sniggers and people from neighbouring tables turn to stare)
and then we got bored, waiting for more speeches..
Then it was time for the highlight of the night- Cheah's (actually I call her Huiren.. But easier to type Cheah.. Clarissa, you're nick for her is rubbing off me too!) birthday surprise!
While everyone was still having dinner, Zee and Christine stealthily slipped off to get the cake and her presents. And returned, unbeknownst to the entire dining-hall-ful of residents.. promptly, our table started the birthday song and ended with the entire hall following suit. She was, of course, caught off-guard and very surprised! Mission accomplished.
... I love my friends!
One more of the pretty cupcakes.
My real present! Don't you try to run away from me, Marley!
That's a good doggie. Now sit!
Heh. The little joys in life.

With the lovely Anni. How would we have survived without you???
Then, time for caroling.

When Clarissa disapparated into thin air. See that yellow blur on the far left. Yeah, nothing more than a wisp of yellow dust, she had become.
And with miraculous powers, she's back! And camera-ready. Tsk tsk.. Probably gone to powder her nose.

With Esther and Feng. One half of F.A.Y.E.
Wonked-eye alert!

Only Esther succeed doing the cross-eye.

Whaley says Bye! (for now)
The Basement
The after-party.
Primed and freshened, we hastened out into the cold for The Basement. Wanted to get there early, so won't have to queue up. But girls being girls.. we took way longer than intended.

I wonder.. why is almost everyone slanting to their left? Is it a girl thing?
The first thing after we got our drinks...

KJ decides to cheat on me and '
gay' with Zee. Meh. By all means, man.

You go, girl! Daphne's the hot secretary of the night.
Tried a variety of games.. but the game of the night would definitely, hands-down be CONCENTRATION! Yes, we kicked up such a ruckus that people all around joined in out of curiousity. I think we went through 16 jugs of beer, because we couldn't get enough of it!
And everytime someone loses, we all sang, "Here's (insert name).. blah blah blah (don't remember this part).. And he/she drinks and he/she smokes and he/she _ _ _ _ _ all the blokes. (insert name)!"
Zee and Clar may look all happy and fine now.

But after a few bouts of CONCENTRATION,

Lol-worthy! (no la, she wasn't doing anything funny.. just being happy, like a clam. Except, an open clam.
And Zee! This one will stick with you for all eternity! It was a song which commanded all guys in the club to strip down to their bare essentials...
Lo and behold, Zee joined in! Picture is censored for everyone's safety. And sanity.

Foreground and background. Cause and effect.

A very uncomfortable Zee, and a very hot Daffy. 3 happy bunnies in between.
I don't like the taste of beer!

Twas, it was time to head back. Cannot believe have to have a 9am tute scheduled the next morning. Major Meh! But had plenty fun when we got back. Kudos to Zee and Clar, truly the stars of the night, who held their liquor. The aftermath was.. a thing to reminisce about, most definitely. The night will stay with us for as long as the Southern Sevens still meet up!
Peace out!
Lancelin Dunes
Yes, as promised, pictures from the 1st day back in Perth. As I said, glad I bumped into them and followed. Had a really great day.
On our 2 hour drive up north.
We turned into this 40km stretch, and sped all the way, trying to reach there as fast as we could. But when we reached the end, we found out that it was the wrong turn! BAH! So we had to U-TURN back where we came from.
Along that stretch, though, we enjoyed the blue skies and green grass.. and cows. Lots and lots of cows.

Niap!Look at how excited Car is, picking up the black cow. Heh...
We finally arrived.

We're that tiny compared to the dunes.
Let's zoom in up close...

Liang learning how to pose pretty.

Waxing the boards before we surf down.. for minimum friction and maximum speed!

YiHui the monster penguin!

Our sand-peppered fries.
That was how strong the gusts of winds were. Even with the box closed.. Sand still penetrated in.
Ended the perfect day with Tiamo's. Awesome italian food man. But Ciao will forever have a special and irreplaceable spot in my heart.
Righto. The rest of the pictures are up on FB..
All in all.. I'm having a great time back in Perth. Even though it was hard to leave beloved friends and family behind. There's a 'family' I can count on here. Being a pet of the corridor has its privileges.
Meow. (I'm a dog in a cat's body that has sheep wool)
