Zen got inked!

Met up with qin earlier in the morning to get her laptop and mine fixed. Bah..cost $74.90 just for consultation fee! They call it diagnostic.

Anyway..back to zen. Yes, met up with her and her 2 other friends, veronica and donna. I was super excited. Yeah, weird, also not me getting it. I guess zen was already used to her nerves flying all around for the past 2 weeks.

Yup, and the artiste is really arty farty in an unconventional way. I mean, he really believes in what he do and loves it. The world is really made up of so many different characters and it amazes me how completely different individuals can gel so well.

Right, after chatting and getting to know each other for about 90 mins..heh..yeah, we talk so much and haven't got down to tattooing zen's back.

Shaving her back..

I have no idea why have to apply deodrant..oh oh..! To prevent her back from perspiring so that the ink can be absorbed propoerly..

Stencil on. At first we thought it was a bit to the left..but after discussing the stroke and all, it is pretty much very centred. Oh, that's her name in Korean.

His operating equipments..looks more like weapons. Veronica was saying these stuff looked more scary than delivery, as in labour/giving birth, tools.

First line to be drawn..See that stuff giraffe zen is embracing?? She needed something to brace her.

Ta-Dah! She said she didn't feel a thing. Cheh..thought it would be hurting so badly.

Meticulously drawing the outline

Outline done in a surprisingly fast time.

Filling in the spaces. I really like that Gary, the artiste, convinced zen to go with thick bold lines. It turned out really good.

Touching up

There..done!

Pretty..!

She loves it!

Til the next episode of Lowland Ink! (it's called lowland ink because the shop is situated at lowland road, just outside my house!)

How my weekend went
Wednesday, July 02, 2008

Since Espanol won Euro 2008 (pops confetti and champange) and the competition is over, my body clock has been forced back to normal. But there's nothing to entertain me anymore! Everytime I hear 'seven nation army' by The White Stripes on my playlist, my mind immediately tunes into Euro Cup mode. BAh.... Actually there's a lot that has to be done and I thank God for that..

And I'm so very grateful for the different groups of people I have to keep my days un-mundane.

Disney Themed Restaurant @ Anchorpoint

Finally met up with The Thursday Club! After postponing so many times, sorry for that girls, we ventured to the west for the long-anticipated dining experience at this disney themed place. (The Dimsum Palace aka 06A2 is crazy over disney so yeah..)

They were exploring the mall while I was waiting for them...spotted them and took this chrismassy pics..maybe they have yet to change the deco.

Close-up shot. Mid-walk, they were still posing when they saw me whip out my camera, hoping to catch them off-guard. Well, at least for Krystal.

Finally sitted and waiting for Zen. First impression of the place, really kiddish. As in every table is parents and their children..and the whole ambience just felt like kid-land, complete with virtual computer games and disney characters merchandise.

She arrives and checks out the menu.. The prices were ridiculously steep. I mean $8.90 for mac & cheese. That's just robbery. But I thought, what the heck, maybe their macaroni-s are princess-shaped and it might just taste like woah.

This pathetic Cream of Chicken cost $5.90! And it was so blend it tasted even worse than canned campbell.

My $8.90 mac & cheese. Bleah...auntie alma could put this to shame, if the macaroni could move, they would probably be digging their graves, too ashamed to be considered food. Oh, and the sauce would..would..just slither down the drain (I have no idea how else they can destroy themselves)

It was so bad I had to force my hand to transport them into my mouth. And I really felt like buffing at the end.

The 3 of them had chicken stew which cost $7.90. They were just as bad. I mean, everything tasted like baby food. You know, those type that comes in bottles and looks like puke..all mashed up.

We were so unsatisfied and disappointed that we lodged a complaint to Walt Disney himself..well, at least his lawyer. How can they serve at such standards? Moreover, High School Musical 2 was playing on the screen the entire time! At least if they play High School Musical, it would have been better.

So, we carried our still-starving bellies (Taz and Krys were filled to the brim seeing how much they ate for lunch) to Secret Recipe, where delectable cakes and snacks were charged at a more reasonable rate then disney. Tsk tsk..the extent parents are willing to put themselves through for their kids' pleasure. I shall never bring my kids to such places unless they serve proper food..I know it's a kids place, but at least serve edible stuff for the parents!

Right, here's my New York Cheese. Heavenly after that nightmare.

Krystal's and Taz's Chocolate Banana. It was huge and filling, that's the kind of dinner we want!

Zen's Apple Crumble Cheese topped with ice-cream..too good for words.

And yummy fat French Fries~

So we sat there and talked and talked.. A lot of our conversation topics went awry..including taz naming herself 'Sex' and Krystal 'City', while Zen and myself were the very boring 'and' and 'the'. For reasons not so clearly obvious I hope. A whole lot of time demanding that I not even consider going to Aussie as an option (and dear Zen went home to research on so many alternatives for me! Thanks dear!), another part of the night reserved for Taz's favourite activity-bitching..But last night was just a mild session.

So yes, next thursday! Can't wait for our photoshoot! Ha!

Swimming/Slacking with cell

Finally joined them for swimming. Well, I didn't swim much because I don't like to swim. So I just floated around, amusing myself with Janelle's impressive imitation of a dolphin and Mindy trying to follow suite. And the rest of them pretending to be graceful water-acrobatic mushrooms. Go figure.

Still, I had loads and loads of fun laughing at their senseless antics (particularly Janelle cause she finally found her true habitat) and taking pictures, which annoyed them highly and I'm not even supposed to post up pictures! But the fun simply cannot be related without pictures.

They waded over to the play-pool...

...What does this do..?

..splashes water at any unfortunate victim standing below. But all of them sat at the bottom waiting for the splashes to come! How strange.. (my camera got wet during this shot and I was so afraid it would foam and die..but it didn't!)

Car-wash anyone?

Joanne and myself were just sitting there amazed at the view where the head of the fall merge with the sky. Then we turned towards each other and had a meet-cute moment! Nah..babyjeen, you know you'll always be in my heart and mind.

The whole fall

Reminds me of teh-tarik.

What are they standing in a line for you ask..

This...

..and this!

So happy for this spiritual family that I have. They've been a powerful and fun force to be reckoned with. Were there to guide me through my very young spiritual walk and share so many stories and stuff with me. I feel so complete with them in my life now! heh..a bit mushy and I would not normally say this..but I love them all, S9 included. One body many parts..this lesson holds true. Looking forward to cell this saturday!

Family Gathering- Pre Euro finals

I love family gatherings!! From any side of the family..especially when Isaac and Isaiah are involved. No Karaoke please..I dread singing into a microphone.

Anyway, it was steamboat, as usual...getting used to it and liking it more and more cause there's 'sau rou' everytime, my favourite! And the soup is just yummy after boiling all the ingredients for the entire night..

So the stars of the night..The first thing Isaac did when he jumped out of the car was to open the cupboard and search for fishfeed! Then he happily plopped himself in front of the pond and threw the feed, one by one for the ever-hungry fishies.. Isaiah wants some too..

Smile! You're on candid camera!

At 6 months of age, anything he can reach goes straight into his mouth.

"How I wish the girls were just mere infants..."

Daddy must have been thinking that..how sweet to hold us in his bosom and smell our sweet scent and listen to us make adorable baby sounds..

Ah haha...puny Isaiah compared to daddy!

"..on second thought, maybe not.." man, just carrying him around caused him to perspire so much..yup, entertaining babies is damn tiring because you cannot put them down, if not their scream and scream until they get picked up again.

Isaac busy running about

One minute he was watching 'Tom & Jerry'

..The next he was wondering away..

..in search of what..you can ask him yourself..

I'm H-U-N-G-R-Y!!

Way past his feeding time, that was..due to certain circumstances..hence his greedy expression at the steaming pot of soup and yummilicious dishes at the side.

..Finally..He says go away..don't take un-glam pictures of him feeding!

A very satisfied and excited baby after his dinner..

..Still hungry?

..nope! Happy as a lark!

Kays, now go rest and play by yourself in your pram while I give my attention to your brother.

Isaac

Still busy running about. I'm amazed by his ability to create games to entertain himself through the night. No idea what he was hunting for either..heh.

All sweaty but still willing to be picked up and pose for his auntie, moi!

I love this shot! Looks posed and candid at the same time..he was really just very annoyed with me constantly flashing him, but it turned out like he was happy!

The only thing that can calm him down and make him sit still is Hoe slices..and cartoons. Heh..

Everytime I have family gatherings, I thank God for such a wonderful family. I've done nothing to deserve all this love and fun, but yet He bless me with so much joy and contentment.
It's really not easy to stay in touch with a huge extended family. Not forgetting all the effort auntie alma has to put into preparing the feast and all. But with the efforts my daddy and mommy make, I'm deeply thankful.

Alright, I feel very very happy now, as I relived through all those moments, with friends and family.

Brings tears to my eye. Meh..

Oh yes, after everyone went home, it was time for the finals! Hubby stayed on for the match and private viewing of the tioman pics. Darn, so many unglam pics..thankfully he doesn't have them to balckmail me with. O.o and I slept during the second half..call me lousy, but I was really wiped out. I mean, I did force my left eye open during the 88th min and to my sleepy joy, it was still 1-0 to Spain. Turns out I didn't miss out much. And I really didn't miss out much, I realised after watching the repeats. Yays..Spain won, Again! And they won big! Tsk, yongjun, what wait for 44 years later..they'll conquer world cup in 2 year's time!
